Local Backups and Resilience

As a best practice, Lloyds offer various local options ranging from set hourly image and application backups on Network Attached Storage to highly available failover clustering on replicated Storage Attached Network’s (SANs) which can tolerate server and SAN failure.

Offsite Backups and Resilience

The technology involved with backups has been evolving to include much more than the traditional onsite files, folders and application based backups to a local tape or disk to now incorporating online images of full systems. This is due to the advances made with internet speeds, hosted storage in the cloud and virtualisation technology which is now regarded as main-stream.

This progression has enabled Lloyds to offer a variety of specialised solutions in order to cater for various customer requirements such as an Online Managed Disaster Recovery service. This uses online incremental backups and the use of virtual machines, so that we can get the customer back up and running in a matter of hours rather than days or weeks.  We also provide an option on where the physical hardware will reside either at Lloyds or taken to the customer’s site. Additionally, we offer hosted environments which the customer can test or train as well as providing peace of mind their systems are readily available if there is a disaster.
